Prom. Rewritten
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
PROM, REWRITTEN

Prom… but without the awkward photos, confusing expectations, or wondering if you’re doing it “right.”

No cliques. No pressure. No pretending.
Just dancing under the stars, potluck treats, great music—and yes, someone will become the Dancing Queen.

Hobbs Hall and Outdoor Patio under the stars!

Come as you are—or as the version of you who would’ve had way more fun the first time around. Once the music starts, you might find you can’t stop the feeling.

No labels. No boxes. No “where do I fit in?”
You already do.

And at some point? Expect a full YMCA moment… and maybe even a Rock Lobster dance scene.

The prom you didn’t get—
and something entirely new.

Buy your ticket. BYOB. Soft drinks included. Bring an appetizer or dessert to share.
Come have fun—with your people.

Intimate UU Conversations
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Learn interesting aspects of fellow congregants! No matter whether you are newish to the church or a long-time member, this is an opportunity to know others in a deeper manner. Using conversation starter cards, 5 to 6 people at a round table will share their reflections on thoughtful topics that pertain to their lives. For example, “What is the greatest risk you have ever taken?” Or, “Describe a memorable encounter you had with another individual.”
After each at the table responds to questions, there will be some time for open, cross conversation. Following a short break for snacks, participants will repeat the process with a new table group. By evening’s end, participants will have gained a more intimate knowledge of 8 to 10 other congregants, and perhaps themselves.

International Musical Journey with Refreshments
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
Did you know that Tchaikovsky wrote operas that incorporated the accordion and Leadbelly recorded songs he learned while growing up playing the accordion prior to the invention of the guitar? Christie Anderson on accordion and Brad Bolton on guitar will explore history of the accordion, cultures that embraced it and samples of their musical styles including Jewish Klezmer, Spanish and Irish folk music, Italian romance melodies and French musette. Crossing the Atlantic, we’ll sway to South American and Caribbean music. We’ll end with a focus on the interesting lives and revolutionary music of Black musicians from New Orleans and the Mississippi Valley between 1890 and 1940 who birthed ragtime, blues and early jazz. Delicious light refreshments provided by Marion Yeagler and Jan Noden. 30 2 .0002E7 20 2/28/27 2:00 PM N Y N N

Midwest Culture Experience: The Euchre Edition
Invalid Image LinkInvalid Image Link
From the birch and pine sandy forests of Michigan to the rolling prairies and corn fields of Iowa, there is a culture that has shaped generations: The Euchre party.

Euchre, though a trick-based card game like Spades, Bridge and Pinochle, is itself an exquisite distillation that serves as a gateway cardplaying experience. Along with guidance for the novices and initiates to Euchre, Randy and Renee will provide midwestern culinary classics. (We promise there will be some that are not Jello(R) based!)
